Dallas Heritage Village will once again be hosting one of its most popular events.
The site will hold its Old Fashioned Fourth celebration in honor of the fourth of July, with the plans for this year being bigger than ever as it is also the village’s 50th year.
There will be a parade, a picnic and a wide assortment of traditional games and other fun to be had. Along with these, there will be extra activities such as Circus in the Park, Dairy Day, a teddy bear picnic, and also a puppet show. To add to the festivities, families who come out can dress in red, white, and blue.
All of the activities are designed to be kid friendly, involving active participation. They can try out their hands at milking a cow, learn how to juggle, and decorate their wagons for the parade. There will also be a carnival with games of chance and a stick pony race. Banners in traditional red, white, and blue can be designed for events such as this
The village’s buildings will be open to the public with interpreters in period costumes on hand to greet them and answer any questions. Light refreshments will be available for purchase in the saloon.
The Old Fashioned Fourth has been scheduled for July 4 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at 1515 S. Harwood in Dallas. More information can be found on its website.
