Predominantly focusing on the Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas markets, the California-based burger chain Fatburger has plans to open 25 locations in Texas.
Fatburger’s ambitious plans are the result of a partnership between FAT Brands Inc. its parent company, and the Dallas-based Croft Ventures, LLC. Fatburger locations in Dallas or any of the other Lone Star State’s selected cities have not been revealed, nor when they will be opening.
Commonly a banner printing service is engaged to create a banner for a new business location once a site has been decided upon.
The burger chain was founded in Los Angeles in 1947 as the “Mr. Fatburger” hamburger stand by Lovie Yancey. In 1952, when Yancey parted ways with her partner, she jettisoned the “Mr.” and began operations under the name “Fatburger”.
In Texas, a comparison with In-N-Out Burger, also a California-based burger chain that has found success in Texas is inevitable. The differences are obvious; a regular Fatburger is one-third of a pound, while the standard In-N-out is about 2 ounces. Additionally, Fatburger wins when it comes to topping options.
For those who don’t eat beef, a turkey burger is an option as well as a veggie patty or an Impossible Burger is available for vegans. Regular as well as sweet potatoes fries and 13 flavors of chicken wings round out the menu.
Buffalo’s Café, Elevation Burger and Ponderosa steakhouse are among concepts that are also owned by FAT Brands.
