Double the Dallas-Fort Worth companies on 2017 Aggie 100

This year, 20 companies in Dallas-Fort Worth were chosen for the Aggie 100, an annual ranking of the fastest-growing companies that are headed or founded by graduates of Texas A&M.

At Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, the announcement of the 13th annual Aggie 100 was made by the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship, part of the school’s Mays Business School. This year, the number of Dallas-Fort Worth companies that made it onto the list is twice what is was last year, when just 10 companies made the cut. This is something A&M will likely want to include next time it arranges catalog printing.

A Dallas-based company cofounded by Michael Ivey, Modern Message, is the highest rated among Northern Texas companies on the Aggie list. Ivey is a 2004 A&M graduate whose software company came up with an online rewards platform. The company has a 79% growth rate over the last three years.

Around 2,500 apartment buildings or complexes are using his platform, which rewards residents with points for social media content creation concerning their apartment community. Points can also earned by taking polls online, paying rental fees, or re-upping on a lease.

The No.1 spot on the list was the Lonquist Field Service Canada ULC, which was founded by Richard R. Lonquist, a 1987 graduate. With offices located in Calgary, Houston, Austin, Denver, and Wichita, Longuist’s company has posted an impressive 223% three-year growth rate.
