A recent release from the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) outlines a simplified, easier to understand and work with fare structure that will go into effect in March.
Among the changes will be the implementation of a standard 3-Hour Pass to replace the Single-ride AM, Midday and PM Passes. Another is the creation of a Bulk Sales Discount, which a tiered discount system that can be used for special events, education institutions and corporate pass partners.
Then there is also the extension of the Education Institution Program to include K through fifth grade as well and the discontinuation of the Retail Annual Pass, although there will be no price change for those enrolled in DART Corporate Annual Pass.

While the cost of a Monthly Pass will go up, Day and Monthly Passes price will not change and the GoPass Tap discount card program which offers half-price fares for those getting benefits from qualifying agencies will change from a temporary to permanent status.
Although changes in fare programs that had ties to the calendar year went into effect on January 1, most of the adjustments to fares and ticketing programs are scheduled to begin on March 1 including a 50 percent discount for veterans.
