WalletHub has released its report listing the “Best Sports Cities” and Dallas garnered the No. 5 spot for the third year running.
WalletHub does a comparison each year of 400 cities in the United States to determine the “Best Sports Cities” by taking into consideration previous rankings on the following five sports categories: baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer. The newly released report placed Los Angeles in the No. 1 spot for 2024 followed by Boston, Pittsburgh and New York in order, immediately ahead of fifth place Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys fans have long held a reputation for steadfastness, so it is not surprisingly that football ranked here the highest among the city’s sports categories. In a previous WalletHub report Dallas came in at No. 2 in 2024 for its football fans. The city is also home to the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, the Stars hockey team and of course the MLB Texas Rangers. In addition to its impressive football rating, the city was also ranked by WalletHub in basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball at No. 15, No.17, No. 22 and No.258 respectively.
The only other Lone Star State Teams to crack the top 100 were Houston at No. 23 and in the No. 40 spot San Antonio.
Rounding out the top 10 were in order of No. 6 through No. 10 were Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati.
