The Dallas Arboretum is home to Tasteful Place, which offers a variety of culinary workshops, and one of these will give the public a huge jump start on their winter holiday baking.
Both arboretum members and non-members alike have been offered seats in the cookie decorating class that is intended for parents and kids to participate in together. A representative from Jessica’s Bake Shop will be on site, and the price to attend starts at $39.
The group will be walked through the steps of preparing basic sugar cookie dough, and this will be followed by preparing a batch of royal icing for decorating. Each ticket holder will get some hands-on practice, and when they head for home, they will walk away with a sheet of recipes and resources they will be able to use in their own home bakery.
Cooking and baking classes for families offer a way for kids to learn some valuable life skills and have fun doing so. They can also be enjoyable for parents and their children to attend together. Printers can provide everything from laminated recipe cards to aprons printed with a small business’s Logo Design to use during an event.
The Christmas in July cookie decorating class will begin at 1:15 pm on July 24. Anyone who registers is asked to be on site at 8525 Garland Road in Dallas by its scheduled start time.
