Data gathered and analyzed by Blind, a professional social network, rates Dallas as number three on the list of best-paying Texas cities for software engineers. The base yearly salary for those with that job title in Dallas averages $113,517; which with bonus, stock options and other benefits added in comes to an annual compensation package of $132,788.
To put the software engineer’s salary in perspective, in Dallas the average annual salary is $61,979.
In a tight job market, many employers utilize every means possible to attract applicants, including a flyer printing service.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, software engineer is one of the most in-demand positions now and will likely remain so till 2030. The bureau projects that over the next eight years, the U.S. will have an additional 409,500 positions to fill.
The city with the highest salary for this position in Texas was unsurprisingly found to be Austin, where a software engineer earns an average base salary of $128,524 with a total compensation of $171,981. Houston takes second place with an average annual base salary of $111,625, a little below that of Dallas, but with a higher total average compensation package of $137,987.
According to Blind, among the most prominent tech employers in the Dallas area are Match, FireEye, Texas Instruments and Palo Alto Networks.
