A representative of MIXT has confirmed that the California-based chain will be opening its first Texas location in Uptown Dallas at 2355 Olive Street.
Specializing in salads and sandwiches, the restaurant highlights salads on their menu with an emphasis on using local fresh, sustainable and organic ingredients whenever possible. The eatery’s signature salads have intriguing names such as the Orchard, Bachelor and Beetnik.
The Orchard includes among other ingredients apples, applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar and grilled chicken. Other salads are the Bachelor, and the Beetnik, the first of which features flat iron steak, caramelized onions and blue cheese, while the other has roasted golden beets, goat cheese and dried cranberries. All the salads have a base of “mixt” greens.
The company also offers entrées such as grilled flat iron steak, and grain bowls and sides such as roasted Brussel sprouts and mashed sweet potatoes. A kid’s menu is available and for the adults, beer and wine.
Flyer printing, often including coupons, is a popular way for new restaurants to build a clientele.
MIXT was launched is San Francisco by siblings Andrew Swallow and Leslie Silverglide and Leslie’s husband David Silverglide. Around a dozen location have been opened in California, mostly in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
