Bonnie and Clyde-inspired speakeasy on its way

West Dallas-based Trinity Groves, dubbed an “eatertainment” complex, has announced the upcoming addition of a speakeasy named Devil’s Back Porch to its repertoire of eating and drinking establishments.

The latest addition to Trinity Groves will be found on the second floor of Phil Romano’s New York-inspired Italian restaurant, Saint Rocco’s. Already a popular location for drinking and gathering with friends, Jay Valley, the executive chef and co-owner of Saint Rocco’s, decided to jazz up the second floor by turning it into a speakeasy.

The name Devil’s Back Porch was chosen for its association with the escape route taken by Depression era outlaws, like Bonnie and Clyde, in the West Dallas area.

Since décor heavily influences an establishment's popularity, business owners and printing services often work closely to ensure continuity.

In addition to an array of mixed drinks, the Devil’s Back Porch will also serve food supplied by Jay Valley and his Saint Rocco’s team. Food will include chicken wings, cannoli, cheeseburgers, and lobster quesadillas.

Speakeasy bars are becoming increasingly trendy and they often come with a complex and mysterious entry. The Devil’s Back Porch is no exception here; patrons of the speakeasy will come in via a separate back entrance into a room featuring a black and red décor, with walls displaying gangster photographs.

Currently, the plan is to open on Thursday May 25 with hours of operation being 5:00 pm to midnight Thursdays through Saturdays.
