The Dallas Arboretum has announced it will once again be hosting its Black Heritage Celebration over two days in May.
This will be the third year for this event, which seeks to highlight Black artists, businesses, designers, and entertainers while also educating the public on the unique beauty of Black culture. Activities and attractions included in the event will be a fashion show, Black-owned vendors, chef demonstrations, musicians, and an entrepreneur showcase.

The two-day event is included with a general garden admission ticket and takes place 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on May 6 and 7. The fashion show is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 and will have Anita Hawkins as curator and Willie Johnson as producer. The show will spotlight Black designers who will bring the latest in their clothing lines. Guest will have an opportunity after the show to shop their favorite boutiques and designers on site.
Sunday’s highlights will be the Entrepreneur Showcase and the Children’s Celebration. Each day, renowned chefs will be on hand providing cooking demonstrations and over 40 Black-owned businesses will be exhibiting their wares for sale including gifts, jewelry, and things to eat.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located at 8525 Garland Road here in Dallas. Ticket prices range from $12 to $20.
