Dallas beats Austin in latest ranking

According to a recently released national report, Dallas is the United States 14th best city in 2025.

Consultancy a real estate and tourism marketing firm based in Canada released its yearly “America’s Best Cities” report whereby it ranks the relative qualities of America’s cities containing metropolitan populations of at least 500,000. Among the qualities evaluated are the cities’ livability, economic prosperity, and cultural “lovability”.

Printing services may be asked to include the city’s ranking in some of their customer’s promotional materials.

Dallas moved up two spots from its 2024 No. 16 ranking to leapfrog over Austin, which came in at No. 15. Among the descriptive highlights for Dallas in the report, were its “maverick, can-do spirit”, its numerous retail businesses and its vibrant hospitality industry. The report also zeroed in on the city’s bustling financial sector, mentioning “Y’all Street” – the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq new regional headquarters.

Although Dallas did beat Austin, it was not the highest-ranking Texas city. Dallas trailed Houston with the latter city taking the No. 13 spot. The trio of Lone Star State cities, Houston, Dallas and Austin fared much better than other cities in the state with San Antonio coming in at No. 41 and El Paso securing the No. 100.

The top five best cities in the U.S. were according to the report New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle, in that order.
