East Dallas to welcome ritzy French caf chain

Founded in New York, the French café chain Maman, known for its coffee and brand-name pastries has plans to move into the former Palmer’s Hot Chicken location at 6465 Mockingbird Lane in East Dallas’ Hillside Village.

Maman’s signage has already gone up, although its opening date is not scheduled until early fall. Presently renovations are ongoing to transform the look of the location from Palmer’s Hot Chicken décor to the chain’s French café look.

Print shops greatly influence the quality of a company’s signage.

Maman’s signature pale blue-and-white toile décor are as recognizable as its Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookies. The company started in Soho by partners Benjamin Sormonte and Elisa Marshall in 2014 and has since expanded across the country and into Canada.

Once updated Maman’s new location will present a French provincial aesthetic of a cozy, European garden vibe featuring imported tiles, wood floors, vintage furniture, and signature blue toile.

Hours of operation for the café will be during the day for breakfast and lunch service. Among items that will be served will be coffee, tea, espresso drinks and a variety of pastries, tea cakes, cookies, Bundt cakes, quiche, Mediterranean steak sandwiches and chicken Caesar wrap.

Hillside Village has undergone an overhaul over the past ten years and this latest addition, Marman will join the current tenants: SusieCakes, Sephora and Sprouts.
