Ono Hawaiian restaurant to make big move into Dallas
A new fast-casual chain is going to move into Dallas in a big way; Ono Hawaiian BBQ, which serves island-style plate lunches, is opening 10 locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
A family-owned chain, Ono Hawaiian BBQ was founded in 2002 not in the Hawaiian Islands but in West L.A. by the Liang brothers, Joe and Josh. Passionate about Hawaiian cuisine and culture, the Liang brothers now have over 115 locations across California and Arizona. In the same vein as other Hawaiian chains, Ono Hawaiian BBQ specializes in the plate lunch which consists of a meat combined with one or two starches.
Ono’s meat offerings include Kalua pork, BBQ chicken, fried chicken katsu, kalbi short ribs and Spam musubi which is composed of a slice of Spam on top of a block of rice & wrapped in seaweed. Plate lunch prices at Ono will run from $13 to $18.
Print shops can do more than simply print menus they can also be counted on to use their expertise to assist in menu design.
The company’s move to the DFW area is its first significant foray outside the West Coast.
In a surprising move, Ono has not only announced its plans for multiple locations, but it's also signed leases for each of its planned for 10 locations. Each location will continue Ono’s fast-casual format offering drive-thru, takeout and dine-in options. Openings are anticipated to take place in early- to mid-2026.
