Uptick in new apartments puts Dallas ahead of the pack

The 2020 pandemic has not slowed Dallas’ booming apartment construction industry, which is again on target to put Dallas first among U.S. metro areas for new apartments.

Provider of commercial real estate data Yardi Matrix has said that as of the second quarter of 2020, Dallas ranked No. 8 in the country for most apartments completed, which totals 1,869. Even more impressive Yardi Matrix’s forecast that for the third year running, Dallas-Fort Worth would lead the whole U.S. in new apartments finished by the end of the year with 19,318, leaving second place to be claimed by New York City.

Although DFW’s anticipated number of new apartments for the year is notable, it is nevertheless 29% fewer than the number of apartments constructed in 2019. In the race to build and sell apartments, brochure printing services play an active role in the success of apartment building developers. It is vital to rent most of a development’s apartments prior to their completion to ensure funds are available for the next project.

It would appear that all of Texas is in an apartment-constructing frenzy. Austin ranked number one for the first six months of this year with 3,827 finished apartments. San Antonio was second with 2,871 apartments ready to rent by the end of June, and Houston was also in the top 10, with its 2,085 securing seventh place.
