Two Dallas high schools among 2022 Texas best

Niche, the education review website, has recently named St. Mark’s School of Texas in Dallas and the School for the Talented & Gifted, a Dallas ISD school, as the top schools in their individual categories.

St. Mark’s was named the best private high school in the state, and the School for the Talented & Gifted took the top spot on the list of the Lone Star state’s best public high schools. This year makes the second year in a row that these school have occupied the No.1 position in their respective Niche category.

In addition to St. Mark’s, the list of the best private high schools in the state included three other DFW area schools in the top 10. At No.3 is the Greenhill School in Addison, The Hockaday School in Dallas took the No. 5 spot, and Irving’s Cistercian Preparatory School secured the No. 8 position.

Public high schools that also made Texas’ top 10 list include the School of Science & Engineering, a Dallas ISD school, at No.3; and Carroll High School, part of the Carroll ISD, at No. 7.

Niche utilized U.S. Department of Education data as well as ratings from parents, current students, and alumni in their rankings.
