Thousands look to enter record books in Dallas

Over 3,000 volunteers will be gathering in Dallas later this month to break the ‘Most People Making Sandwiches Simultaneously’ Guinness World Record.

In one day, the event is anticipated to feed more than 200,000 people. The sandwiches, made at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center, will all be given to local food charities in North Texas.

This will not be the first Guinness World Record that TangoTab has tackled; in February 2014, the company originally took the ‘Most People Making Sandwiches Simultaneously’ title only to relinquish it 18 months later following an effort from Subway.

Over the last four years, the mobile app TangoTab has been able to supply 1.3 million meals via people dining in restaurants with which it partners. Participation is free and everyone is welcome to head down to the Convention Center and become a Guinness World Record Holder. The success of an event such as this one is often depend on how extensive a poster printing service or other form of advertising is utilized.

Based in Dallas, TangoTab is available in Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, College Station, Waco, Oklahoma City, and San Diego, and the company will be operational in markets all across the country in 2016.

The Saturday, February 27 world record attempt takes place from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and is co-sponsored by Texas Land & Cattle.
