Strong DFW presence among James Beard Award semi-finalists

Absent for the last two years, the James Beard Awards are back and the list of its 2022 Restaurant and Chef award semi-finalists has been posted, with no fewer than 10 of them from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The awards, which are presented by the James Beard Foundation, recognize the best of culinary professionals and endeavors, ranging from Best New Restaurant to Outstanding Chef.

This year’s event is slated to be the first time an award will be presented by the foundation for Best Chef: Texas, with the category having been created following the 2019 awards to highlight the Lone Star State’s diversity of culinary talent. In the Best Chef Texas, five of the nominees were from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
