FRC, which also owns, Flower Child, North Italia, and The Henry here in Dallas, has enjoyed a successful run here in Dallas. The company’s founder, Sam Fox, has developed a dozen brands including names like Blanco Cocina + Cantina, Zinburger, and Doughbird that are not located here.
The Dallas Culinary Dropout will be the first location to feature a rooftop bar. Promotional Products are sometimes distributed ahead of a grand opening to help build excitement around a new venue.
The Culinary Dropout concept, which offers comfort food and cocktails in an offbeat rock ‘n’ roll atmosphere, has found success in FRC’s home state of Arizona where there are six locations, as well as one in Denver, and one here in Texas in Austin.
The new restaurant will be located in The International on Turtle Creek, which Quadrant Investment Properties (QIP) acquired in 2021. A real estate investment firm based in Dallas, QIP primarily works with urban center development projects. The company’s founder, Chad Cook, was quoted on Dallas Culture Map saying:
"The acquisition strategy for The International was centered around attracting a world class food and beverage operator. From the project's inception, Culinary Dropout was the ideal fit for this space."
The Culinary Dropout is not projected to open until early 2024.
