A conference which will tackle the issue of obesity and weight issues is set to take place October 25 – 28 2012, in Dallas Texas.
The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is a national charity which helps people who are affected by obesity. The non-profit organization provides education and resources to help individuals who have weight issues. The Inaugural ‘Your Weight Matters’ National Convention will be held at the Hilton Anatole Dallas, providing an alternative approach to health and weight education.
The OAC aims to provide information to individuals which is unbiased, comprehensive, and based on evidence, helping them to understand weight and the health impacts of obesity. Experts in health and weight will talk about topics like body image issues, bariatric surgery, childhood obesity, nutrition, and exercise. An opportunity to ‘Lunch with Experts’ will be offered so that conference attendees can have lunch with a professional in healthcare while discussing topics like food addiction, weight, and issues with intimacy. The OAC President and CEO Joe Nadglowski believes that the convention will provide answers to many questions which refer to health and weight.
Events held will include the Dallas Walk from Obesity, with informative sessions also to be held, according to the OAC Chairperson Pam Davis. Although there have already been hundreds of registrations from people all over the US, local brochure printers will probably be busy helping with the promotion of the convention. Although US citizens are often bombarded with weight loss messages, they are perhaps less frequently given fact-based and unbiased information.
