Mobile station one option to obtain free ID cards

Free Election Identification Certificates (EIC) are available at mobile stations to qualified Texas voters, as well as at Department of Public Safety (DPS) driver license offices, and can be collected this week.

A photo ID is required in order to cast a ballot in Texas. In addition to an EIC, other Forms of identification that will be accepted at Texas polling stations include a driver’s license, concealed handgun license, or personal identification card, provided they are issued by the DPS. Additional forms of photo ID accepted are a U.S. issued military identification card, citizenship certificate, or passport.

Mobile stations will be issuing EICs to those who do not already have a qualifying photo ID. Regardless of whether a citizen seeks an EIC at a mobile station or at a DPS driver license office, he or she will be required to show proof of identity and citizenship. A complete list of acceptable documents can be found at the DPS website.

State, county, and city government offices depend on brochure printers to keep them supplied with informative printed materials for the public.
The mobile station will be in Dallas tomorrow, September 23rd, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Dallas County Elections Department at 2377 N. Stemmons Freeway. A list of where the mobile stations are scheduled to be is available at the VoteTexas.gov website.
