First Texas Wrangler brand store opening in Dallas

Wrangler is moving into the retail market by opening its own stores, and its inaugural Texas store will be in Galleria Dallas.

Wrangler's foray into operating its own branded stores is in its infancy with only a store in Denver open so far. The company chose Dallas for its second retail store launch in part due to the successful testing of its new Cool Vantage jeans in Dallas and Lubbock. Oklahoma City was also a test market for the new jeans style last year.

According to Katie Johnson, Wrangler spokesperson, Texas is the new jeans’ top market. In addition to the wrangler store near Macy’s on the mall’s second level, the new Cool Vantage jeans can be purchased at Boot Barn and Cavender’s.

Wrangler’s new jeans were launched in June and only available through western wear outlets. The selling point for the Cool Vantage jeans is the proprietary denim that is purported to wick moisture to the jeans outside at five times the rate of ordinary denim. This is advertised to allow the wearer to remain cool, dry, and comfortable.

Locals can expect to see a flurry of Flyers as the date for the new 2,000 sq. ft. store at the Galleria Mall in Dallas approaches. The opening of the store, which will carry the full Wrangler clothing line including some items made only for the Wrangler stores, is set for October 30.
