Dallas to experience work of mysterious artist

A street artist well-known for his secrecy, Banksy will be bringing his latest immersive art exhibition to Dallas at the end of June and into early July.

At an as of yet unknown location within the Dallas Arts District, Banksy’s exhibit Banksyland will move on from Dallas to Austin and Houston for runs in July and August. Dallas residents who enjoy street art can count themselves lucky as they will have the opportunity to enjoy Banksyland for two weekends rather than the three-day time period allotted to the other two Texas cities

The exhibit’s location will not be revealed to ticketholders until two weeks prior to its opening. Banksyland features over 80 pieces and installations in such a way as to immerse its viewers. The collection will include studio and original works, street artworks that have been salvaged, and never-before-seen immersive installations.

Although Banksy has been on the art scene since the 1990, the artist’s identity is still unknown. He is believed to have been a native of Bristol, England and born in the mid-1970s, and first came to attention as part of Bristol’s street art and graffiti scene.

Banksyland will be held June 24 to 26 and July 1 to 4 with several timeslots available, starting each day at 12:00 pm. Tickets will cost $22-$59 and can be purchased from the official site.
