Sesame Workshop will visit Dallas in early July as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.
The nonprofit educational organization guiding popular kids’ show Sesame Street will visit Dallas for four days. During its visit, the production crew will film a segment for Sesame Street’s 50th season, which starts in November on HBO.
Several beloved characters will be stopping in to community organizations and visiting local landmarks around the city.
While here, the nonprofit will team up with community leaders, elected officials and celebrities. Together they will shine a spotlight on the various ways Sesame Street influences Dallas children, as well as those around the country, to be kinder, stronger, and smarter.
A total of 10 cities are included on the Sesame Workshop’s nationwide tour, and Dallas is its only stop in Texas. The tour begins on June 1 in New York City and starts again in a new city every Saturday, until finishing in Los Angeles on August 3.
Being a stop on the tour would be a feather in any city’s cap, and many communities use banner printing to fully utilize the promotional value of pulling off such a coup.
The Dallas portion of the tour is scheduled for July 3 to 6, and on the last day, a free family festival along with a stage show will take place at Main Street Garden.
