Dallas mayor urges pre-registration for Back to School Fair

Mayor Mike Rawlings has been spreading the word about this year’s Dallas Back to School Fair. The annual event is expected to draw over 35,000 year and the mayor is urging parents to pre-register to lessen their wait at the event.

The is the 18th year for the fair, and Rawlings initiated this year’s event at the first pre-registration drive. Held at the East Dallas John F. Kennedy Learning Center on July 8, the Governor spoke to students and staff about the event. Rawlings used his time at the learning center to thank current sponsors of the fair and encourage new ones, in addition to answering questions.

Participation in an event such as this one provides an extraordinary advertising opportunity for sponsors, who can have their Stationery printer include the information in the letterhead or Brochures. Additionally, all publicity about the event will include the sponsor’s name.

The Back to School Fair takes place at Fair Park’s Automobile and Centennial Buildings on August 1. The event supplies low-income families with medical examinations and school supplies. Registering ahead of time means less time spent in line on August 1.

Interested parties can go to the event’s website to find a list of registration locations and times, as well as finding out which documents applicants are required to bring.
