Dallas-Fort Worth area vegan and vegetarian friendly

A study conducted by WalletHub, a personal finance website noted for ranking cities in finance-related categories, revealed that 6 of the 100 cities rated most vegan and vegetarian-friendly in the U.S. were in the DFW area.

People forgo meat in favor a plant-based diet for an assortment of reasons. According to a poll the Vegetarian Resource Group commissioned, around eight million adults in the country identify as either vegan or vegetarian.

Those who choose to be meatless often find it a challenging lifestyle, depending on where in the U.S. they live. Although foregoing meat, according to some experts, should save an individual about $750 per year, many find it can be expensive in some areas of the country.

WalletHub ranked U.S. cities by weighing 15 indicators that included percentage of eateries offering meatless options and the cost of vegetarian and vegan items in groceries. The study could be helpful for those who avoid meat products and are relocating, and in this regard, the Dallas Fort-Worth made a good showing.

Savvy grocery owners in Dallas may seize this opportunity to look into newsletter printing to promote their vegetarian-friendly status.

Dallas’ overall ranking was No.37, which was the highest in Northern Texas. It came in third statewide with Austin at No. 13 and Houston at No. 17 ahead of Dallas. Other cities in the area on the top 100 cities list were Plano, Garland, Irving, Fort Worth, and Arlington.
