Badu to embark on Unfollow Me Tour

Erykah Badu, renowned performance artist and singer-songwriter, will be launching a summer tour entitled the “Unfollow Me Tour” that will start and end here in Texas.

Known as the “Queen of Neo Soul”, Badu will perform the first of her tour concerts on June 11 in San Antonio at the AT&T Center and end the tour here in Dallas. It will be the first of 25 cities she will visit throughout June and July. Described as the “out-of-this-world, surrealist atmosphere” tour, Badu will be joined by her friend Yasiin Bey, an insightful hip-hop artist.

Poster printing services have long provided marketing opportunities for musicians.

The incentive for this tour is uncertain. Usually, large-scale tours such as this are prompted by the recent or soon-to-be release of new material; however, for Badu this is not the case. Her first Album, entitled “Baduizm”, was released in 1997 and was followed by four more albums, the latest of which was “New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh)” in 2010. Badu’s most recent release was in a mixtape in 2015 called “But You Caint Use My Phone”.

Making her home in Dallas, Badu has favored her hometown with multiple appearances over the years, the most prominent being her yearly Birthday Bash, usually held in Deep Ellum at The Factory. Taking this into account, it makes sense that the final stop of her tour will be right here at home on July 23 at the American Airlines Center.
