The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is currently holding a two-month celebration of fall called ‘Autumn at the Arboretum’, during which one weekend is being set aside especially for children and their parents.
Autumn at the Arboretum started on September 20 and runs through November 26. While it contains many sights and activities sure to inspire and please the whole family, this coming weekend is designed not just with the season in mind, but Halloween as well.
Costumed characters will be spread out throughout the gardens, where children can trick-or-treat. Additionally, there will be costume contests for all ages in the Pecan Grove, as well as daily entertainment during the afternoon. Guests will be treated to an interactive magician, fall-inspired crafts to take home, and an old-fashioned ‘cake walk’.
Venues such as this provide a destination in which fun and education co-exist. A postcard printing service can provide a revenue stream for such locations as they seek to promote the facilities they offer.
Day-specific activities are planned for October 26 and 27 in the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, with the first ones starting at 10:30 am and the last at 4:00 pm. These are fun activities designed to educate children, and their parents as well, about eco-systems and the plants and animals that share them; all with a ‘creepy’ Halloween theme present.
