Comic convention to return to Cedar Park

The Greater Austin Comic Con (GACC) will be back in Cedar Park next month, featuring guests and activities for pop culture aficionados.

This will be the sixth year of the GACC, and it aims to be the biggest and best yet. There will be a cosplay contest where fans can showcase their costumes of their favourite characters, with categories for newcomers and experts. A celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will take place, with appearances by actors Robbie Rist, Kenn Scott, and James Saito. Guests can also expect appearances from stars of the squared circles, including legendary pro wrestlers Kevin von Erich and Sergeant Slaughter, as well as real-life fighters Rampage Jackson and Riddick Bowe. Guests will participate in events and photo opportunities.

One of the convention’s main attractions will be a large marketplace of artists, vendors, and photographers. Specialist vendors at conventions like this often use colourful poster printing and signage to help attract attention. Past editions of the convention have also included classic arcade consoles, food vendors, and other attractions. The convention is run with the assistance of local volunteers and the support of local stores and other vendors from across the greater Austin area.

The 2025 Greater Austin Comic Con will take place at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park on July 19 and 20.
