City of Cedar Park puts out call for sculpture submissions

Cedar Park Sculpture Garden is looking for local artists to submit pieces of their work to potentially be displayed in the garden.

The facility, which was first set up three years ago, has become a popular attraction. It not only allows the public to view the pieces, but it also provides artists with a chance to have their work displayed to potential buyers, both public and private. Brochures can be printed for attractions such as this that contain more information about each of the works of art that can be found there and the person who created it.

Items that are selected to be included in the garden are kept there for one year. The Cedar Park Parks, Arts and Community Enrichment (PACE) directors are currently accepting submissions of sculpture. They must be ready to be installed from October 1 until October 7. Each item will be reviewed using criteria that include aesthetics, originality, and whether or not it is suitable for the outdoors.

Artists who are interested in submitting a piece for inclusion are asked to complete an entry form for each piece that includes either a scale model or digital photograph by May 27.

The Cedar Park Sculpture Garden can be found at 1435 Main Street. Further details and an application form are available on its website.
