Cedar Park hopes new program will draw visitors to the city

Cedar Park has joined a program designed to make exploring the area a whole lot more interesting.

The city made the decision to become a member of the Texas Hill Country Passport program, which provides visitors to the area with an opportunity to earn a stamp as they visit each of the 24 locations it contains.

To help people get the most out of their time in each of the communities, details are given about the points of interest and other attractions that can be found there.

The Austin Steam Train has been included as one of the highlights for Cedar Park. This old-style steam locomotive gives its passengers a chance to enjoy a mile-long ride through Hill Country and its features.

In an interview with Community Impact, Cedar Park’s tourism manager Katie Parks explained:

“We hope to bring more awareness to the historical trails in Texas… The passport program gives smaller communities without a big budget the chance to be seen.”

A printer can produce Promotional Products such as the passport, and everyone who completes it will be eligible to win a variety of prizes, such as tours, special offers for restaurants, and show tickets. The Texas Hill Country Passports can be picked up at Cedar Park City Hall, as well as the Austin Steam Train Association and any other attractions listed inside.

Further details about the program can be found on the Texas Hill Country Passport program’s website.
