October often brings lots of thrills and chills, and for one community in Texas, it means it's time to hit the road in support of the work of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas.
The Hill Country Halloween Half Marathon is in the works for this fall for Cedar Park , and it promises to be lots of fun for any age. Along with the half marathon, there will be a 5K and Kids Marathon, and everyone can choose the option that's best for their fitness and ability level.
This activity, which was originally planned for 2020, has been given the green light to go ahead. The runners may choose to dress up in a fun costume if they wish, and chip timing will be available. Prize giveaways, entertainment, massages, and special fun just for the kids will be set up at the finish line. Prizes are available for the leading male and female finishers, and the goal is for everyone to have a great time.
It was noted that, along with the other perks that go hand in hand with participating in the fundraiser, everyone will receive a finisher’s medal that boasts a unique graphic design prepared for the occasion. Registration for the day can be completed online.
The date for the 2021 Hill Country Halloween Half will be October 30th. Both the start and finish line will be set up at the HEB Center in Cedar Park.
