Just as with human children, “fur kids” can sometimes get into dangerous situations, and a first aid course on offer locally will teach Cedar Park pet parents what to do in an emergency.
The CPR and First Aid class offered by Dog Alliance is open to all. It will run for three hours, and a registration fee of $99 is being charged to participate.
The workshop will introduce a variety of emergency health-related topics, and each of the attendees will learn how to put together an emergency first aid kit as well as a “go bag” to use in times of crisis. Travelling safely with a pet, as well as the basics of understanding a companion animal’s body language, will also be discussed. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for pets is also on the syllabus, and the class will be taught by a subject matter expert.
Certificates of completion, as well as pocket CPR refresher cards for a learning activity, can be supplied by area Stationery printers for a function like this, where take-home material is likely to be important to reinforce learning.
The Dog Alliance has made arrangements to offer this animal-themed first aid and CPR workshop on Tuesday, August 9. It will begin at 6:00 pm, and the venue will be located at 321 W. New Hope Drive.
