Cedar Park area asked to pitch in with community projects

A Cedar Park area event will give locals a chance to show just how much good can happen when a community comes together.

The United Way of Williamson County is inviting people who live in the area to be part of a day of helping others. It will kick off with a breakfast and brief program before teams of volunteers tackle projects throughout the county.

The event, which has been dubbed ‘Day of Caring’, is part of an annual effort by United Way agencies all across central Texas. The volunteers will work on projects such as cutting trails, reading to kids, visiting seniors, and sorting donations. The projects and their locations will be posted online, and those who are interested can register for the task of their choice.

To thank the participants for their efforts in support of their community, those who attend the kick-off will be able to stop by the registration area to claim their T-shirt printed with a unique graphic design. This part of the day will run from 8:00 am until 8:30 am.

The United Way of Williamson County welcomes all support for its Day of Caring, and noted that it wished to thank those who have chosen to sponsor the event. It will be held on September 27, and more details have been posted on its online listing.
