Austin residents and visitors will have an opportunity to show off their running and walking skills when the Ascension Seton Austin Marathon comes to town.
The event presents a standard marathon, half marathon and a 5K with over 20,000 participants anticipated. Racers have the experience of running along the area’s roads that host iconic landmarks, including The I Love You Mural, Austin Power Plant, and the UT Tower. They will also pass through interesting neighborhoods such as Hyde Park and SOCO district. The finish line is on historic Congress Avenue in front of the state capitol.
Participants will receive Under Armour shirts, belt buckle customized finisher medals, and a festival of fun at the conclusion. Post-race massages will be available for participants along with food trucks, live music, and a beer garden to celebrate with a cold brew.
A health and fitness expo will take place during the event where visitors and participants can purchase official Under Armour Gear and check out newest trends in running accessories. Banner printing is often a task needed for events of this type to communicate locations, markers and vendors in a big, bold manner for all to see.
The Ascension Seton Austin Marathon will take place February 16 beginning at 7:00 am at Congress and 2nd in the downtown area. Interested individuals or teams may register via the event website.
