The upcoming 28th annual Cine Las Americas International Film Festival in Austin will spotlight films from the Caribbean, the Iberian Peninsula as well as North and South America. Viewers may also see films from Spain and Portugal.
The festival will be presented by Cine Las Americas, an Austin non-profit organization which is a strong advocate for the work of Indigenous and Latin filmmakers. Cine Las Americas has not only organized the annual festival for almost three decades, but also provides youth education programs and other events that ensure the vibrant stories told in the films are seen by many audiences.
The five-day festival will showcase cultural films including documentaries, narratives, music videos and more. For state-produced films, there will be the well-loved annual presentation of Hecho en Tejas.
As part of the focus on up-and-coming filmmakers, for the second year, a separate one-day Emergente Youth International Film Festival will also be held. It will highlight the work of those ages 19 and under and also offer workshops to the budding filmmakers.
Groups that organize festivals such as this often use area Print shops for their event marketing and promotional materials.
The Cine Las Americas International Film Festival will be held in Austin from May 13 to 17, 2026. The Emergente Youth Film Festival will take place May 23, 2026.
