Screenwriting highlighted at Austin film festival

The upcoming Austin Film Festival (AFF) will be its 33rd celebration of artistic creativity, including an eight-day festival and four-day conference.

Also known as the writer’s festival, the event honors the craft of storytelling across big and small screens. Industry leaders, emerging filmmakers, and movie fans from across the globe will gather for screenings of a large variety of films, both independent and star-studded global debuts.

There will be informative learning opportunities with writers, directors and actors, including question and answer sessions, workshops and panel discussions.

AFF aims to appeal to screenwriters at all levels as they have the chance to learn from the best, gaining insight into how to weave their own captivating tales.

In addition to watching films and participating in workshops, attendees can also gain exclusive networking value through the festival's highly regarded flagship conference.

Aspiring writers and film artists will be able to mingle with hundreds of experienced creators in an atmosphere that fosters collaboration and garners valuable information about the business side of the film industry.

Networking opportunities like this are often an ideal venue for participants to distribute Business Cards as part of self-promotion.

The Austin Film Festival will be held October 29 to November 5, 2026, at downtown theatres and other venues. The festival will open with a Film and Food fundraising party. Further information is available on the AFF website.
