Jazz legend Robert Glasper will visit the city of Austin this August to provide an evening of musical delights to residents.
The event is being held in celebration of the underground club Empire and its 10th anniversary. The club, which also serves as the event’s location, frequently hosts musical performances meant for the residents and general public.
For this event, there will be typical concert conveniences including food, drink, live instruments, and vocal performances from Grammy Award-winning artist and songwriter Robert Glasper. Glasper has gained critical acclaim over the years for his work on films such as Ava Duvernay’s “13th” and Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly.” He continues to influence the field through his themed series of “Black Radio” albums, and has also collaborated with a variety of artists to produce innovative sounds.
