Austin’s annual Chuy’s Children Giving To Children Parade will take place this month starting at the State Capitol on Congress and 11th Streets.
The parade benefits Operation Blue Santa with attendees bringing unwrapped toys for donation to the charity in time for the holidays. Santa’s Helpers can be seen along the route of the parade collecting toys. Banner printing can provide highly visible signage as needed.
Operation Blue Santa has been in existence since 1972 and has assisted thousands of local families in need. The entity is an Austin Police Department charitable outreach program and provides food and gifts for children in the city.
Festive floats decked out for the holidays will bring smiles to faces young and old. Giant balloons can be seen from across the city. A classic car show is on the agenda along with fantastic marching bands.
The parade is managed by Austin Community Foundation. Volunteers are needed for a large public event such as this parade and can apply online. Community service credit is available for eligible volunteer hours.
Several leading organizations sponsor the parade including CBS Austin, Parkway Construction, Shady Grove, Telemundo Austin, and Performance Food Group. Sponsors may visit the event website for more information and to sign up to participate.
The Children Giving to Children Parade will take place November 30 starting at 11:00 a.m. for approximately one hour.
