Thousands of video game enthusiasts will gather in Austin in July for one of the largest retro game celebrations in the country.
Classic Game Fest 2024 will feature 100,000 square feet of space for a gaming floor, merchandise, vendor booths, and more. Printing companies often provide Promotional Products for giveaways at events such as this.
The first festival in 2007 was a gaming tournament which has grown and evolved into a large convention hosting hundreds of video game companies, retailers, content creators, costumed players, industry celebrities, and avid gamers. They come together to learn about gaming history and to buy, sell, and trade retro games and systems as well as related merchandise, collectibles, and art.
There will be free play on hundreds of past games, such as Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Street Fighter, Megaman, and more. Plus, guests can show off their gaming talents in a variety of tournaments. Single-day or three-day tickets are available for purchase on the event website. VIP wristbands will provide early entry each day for the most enthusiastic gamers. Those aged 10 and under can attend free of charge when accompanied by an adult and convention volunteers receive a free VIP pass so they can join the crowd after their shift.
Classic Game Fest is a three-day event taking place from July 19-21 at the Palmer Events Center, which is within walking distance of a number of area restaurants and hotels.
