The Roosevelt Room, a local distillery and restaurant, will host an educational event this January.
The event is titled ‘Rumbullion’, and it will focus on rum and sugar cane spirits. It will take a look at the history of this category of spirits, as well as the different processes of distillation such as English, Spanish, Jamaican, and eight others. The session will cover the history of each, as well as what makes them unique. Participants will also have a taste-through of each of the various styles during the course.
Attendees will also receive a lesson in the basics of tasting each rum-style. With this aspect, organizers aim to improve the tasting experience for patrons, and allow them to identify each type based on their trademark qualities in the future. All guests must be 21 years and older in order to attend this event.
General admission will be $75, prime seating will be $85, while front row seating will be $100. There is also a Deluxe Add-On available for $150, which includes a professional bartending kit. All these options are available on the Eventbrite listing.
Poster printing can offer a variety of choices for showcasing the different rum types at events like this.
This event takes place on January 15 at the Roosevelt Room. This is located at 307 West 5th Street, Austin, Texas. It begins at 12:00 pm and ends at 2:30 pm.
