Austin celebrates 87 years of Mediterranean food

The 87th Annual St. Elias Mediterranean Festival is coming to Austin. It has been recognized by the Austin Chronicle as one of “Central Texas’ Top 10 Food Festivals.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy ethnic treats from Lebanon, Greece, Italy Russia and Palestine. Falafel, shish kabob, gelato, gyros, spanakopita are just a few of the delights in store at the festival. Of course, baklava and Arabic coffee will be available, too.

Special guest singer Danny Achkar, along with his band, will join Greek and Arabic dancers performing to live music. The Festival Marketplace features a unique Orthodox Bazaar where shoppers can find authentic and unusual gifts.

Sponsors for the Mediterranean festival include Twin Liquors Fine Wine and Spirits, Absolut Vodka, Bacardi, and Dagar’s Catering.

Poster printing is a typical request for Print shops for festival events. The Posters are printed in full color and can be placed throughout a venue depicting the featured highlights of the areas. They can also feature the event sponsors.

The St. Elias Mediterranean Festival will take place on September 27 and 28 on the church grounds. The event will open on Friday from 6:00 to 11:00 pm and then again on Saturday at noon. For those attending between noon and 4:00 pm on Saturday, admission is free. More information is available via the event website.
