Next month, professional improv instructor Bob Dassie will be leading a six-hour intensive workshop for comedians and writers, and improvisers to sharpen their improvisational skills in Austin. The workshop is suitable for those with intermediate to advanced skills with improv.
Dassie is an experienced improv performer and instructor. He has led instructional workshops and performed improv in multiple countries, including the USA, Scotland, and Singapore. Notable people he has worked with over the years include Stephen Colbert, Del Close, and Sharna Halpern.
In partnership with Amoeba Improv, Dassie will provide Austin students of the one-day workshop with instruction on how to improve their improv performing and writing skills. Participants will be able to practice on stage during the event and receive personalized constructive criticism from Dassie. After the workshop concludes, students will have the opportunity to participate in a final Q&A before the event wraps up. When planning in-person workshops, the organizers of such events typically visit local Print shops in advance to make sufficient Copies of printed handouts for participants to refer to during the event.
To register for the workshop, those who wish to join can purchase tickets for $150 each.
The one-day improv workshop will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 16 and will end by 5:00 pm. The event will take place at the Fallout Theater.
