Sports radio station to launch in Columbia
The newest sports broadcast channel of Gray Media will start in Columbia as channels WIS 10.4 and WPAM 18.1 this fall.
News of such new radio stations can be disseminated throughout a community with flyer printing.
The new network will be based in Columbia our of Gray’s WIS-TV and will focus on local and live sports as well as a wide variety of entertainment programming across the state of South Carolina. Earlier this year, WIS started broadcasting live games with the Columbia Fireflies and the Charleston Battery.
Lee Cohen, president of the Charleston Battery Club, expressed his pleasure with their partnership with Gray Media as it has exposed sports fans in the area to their club who may not have been able to make it to the games. Brad Shank, president of the Columbia Fireflies Team, also expressed his excitement about the ability of their broadcast team to work with WIS.
Other partnerships which the network has developed include Greenville Liberty, Greenville Triumph, and the Charleston RiverDogs, as well as several colleges and universities including Clemson University.
Robby Thomas, vice president and general manager of WIS, said that the radio station is creating new fans. He added that their audience appreciates watching free live sports and that the station is thrilled to be launching this endeavor throughout the state.
