New apartment building to come to Columbia

The Design/Development Review Commission of the city of Columbia has approved a proposal to develop a new multi-family apartment complex near the Greek Village of the University of South Carolina.

The complex will consist of a building seven stories tall on Catawba Street on a lot of 1.88 acres. It will have 237 apartments of which 38 will have one bedroom, 96 will have two bedrooms, and 103 will have three bedrooms. There will also be a parking garage that will accommodate about 330 spaces. Among its amenities will be a spa, swimming pool, courtyard, and parking for bicycles.

Such sites often rely on banner printing to inform residents of such upcoming projects.

Cardinal Capital Group, based in Denver, has proposed the project. It partners with Agency FIFTY3, a marketing agency, to specialize in multifamily spaces ranging from affordable housing to housing for students. This collaboration enables the company to focus on operational strategies so that its partner can develop promotional campaigns that focus on the high quality and standards of their projects.

Traffic analysis of the area has shown that heavy traffic volumes in the area will continue regardless of whether the project is developed. However, the project will include improvements to Catawba and Lincoln Streets. Additional improvements to the sidewalk will be made as well as the construction of a dedicated cycle track.
