Dulce Losa Ice Cream Factory is now open in Columbia.
Based on Summit Parkway near the Food Lion, it is close to Hard Scrabble Road and its location was once home to a Smoothie King.
Dulce Losa Ice Cream Factory offers more than two dozen flavors in either cones or cups and as milkshakes. Among its more exotic flavors are birthday cake, apple strudel, and Superman. Customers can add fruit and candy toppings to their ice cream at no additional charge. Local Print shops can be hired to Print Flyers and other materials with more information about flavors and menu options.
The inside of the store is welcoming and bright with walls painted in the black and white pattern of a cow. Cows playing basketball and wearing local high school teams’ jerseys are also depicted in Posters along the walls. The bovine basketball players are given names such as Shaquille O’Veal and LeBarn James.
Two couples – Mike and Jennifer Campbell, and Will Taylor and Tammy Johnson – are owners of the shop. Johnson said she is enjoying the location of the shop in a busy part of the city, with Ridge View High School being so close and a high volume of traffic traveling down Hard Scrabble Road.
