Scott Dempsey has been appointed as the president and general manager of WLTX Columbia.
Dempsey will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the station across all platforms and ensuring there are positive results for advertisers.
Such appointments often call for business card printing services.
From 2015 to 2022, Dempsey was general manager and vice president of WBTV Charlotte, North Carolina. While he was in this role, the station became the top one in the market for the first time in 35 years, and was able to consistently rank within the top two in the city. He also was regional vice president for Raycom Media and supervised other stations in Columbia, South Carolina and in Augusta and Savannah, Georgia.
Dempsey has also held sales positions at WFTS in Tampa, Florida and as WABC in New York City. He has also been a chief executive officer at a home building business in Florida.
Senior vice president of media operations at Tegna, of which WLTX Columbia is an affiliate, Richard Dyer, said that Dempsey has an impressive record of accomplishment as a general manager and a great deal of sales experience. He added that he is confident that Dempsey will lead the station to revenue and viewer growth, and create new opportunities for the area.
Dempsey expressed his thrill about joining the WLTX team and is looking forward to making a difference in people’s lives.
