New faculty and dean join college in Columbia
This fall, 11 new faculty members have been hired by Columbia College.
New hires for many businesses often mean there is a need for business card printing services.
Kristine Barnett, Provost of Columbia College, said that the college is always looking for opportunities to improve the academic experience for students. Barnett added that these new faculty have the professional expertise to offer fresh perspectives and new educational experiences and have great passion for their respective fields. She expressed her excitement about what their impact will be on the student body.
There will be three new faculty in the Division of Arts and Humanities, five in the Division of Education, and two in the Division of Health, Mathematics, and Sciences.
A new dean has been hired in the Division of Business, Leadership, and Communication. Lisa Assante, Ph.D., will also be a Senior Lecturer and has over 30 years’ experience in tourism and hospitality management, the beverage and food industry, and higher education. Her most recent position was as Associate Professor and Head of Academics and Research at for Al Rayyan International University College in partnership with the University of Derby in Doha, Qatar. She earned her Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration from Texas Tech University.
She has a vast academic background with a breadth of knowledge at all levels of organizational leadership and management that is expected will well serve the students in the division.
