Several special and seasonal events are coming to Columbia this month.
The South Carolina Jazz Masterworks Ensemble will be at the Harbison Theatre at Midlands technical College performing a concert called “Swingin’ Holidays”. This is their annual Christmas program that will be a brass-filled tribute to the classic tunes of the season. This concert will be on Sunday December 8 at 3:30 p.m.
“A Magical Cirque Christmas” will be coming to the Koger Center for the Arts. This will be a modern and cutting-edge variety show of acrobatic performances of love, joy, and holiday cheer set to the favorites of the holiday season. This high-energy show will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday December 10.
The Harlem Globetrotters will be at the Colonial Life Arena. This sports entertainment group will present funny and flashy basketball that is filled with sleight-of-hand and many tricks, all with the goal of filling families with cheer and laughter. This event will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday December 13.
Also coming to the Koger Center for the Arts will be a kid-friendly version of the soundtrack of “Avatar,” the series on television, with a live orchestra. The music will be synchronized with “Avatar: The Last Airbender” on a full-size cinema screen. This will be on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Such events often turn to flyer printing to help advertise and promote themselves throughout a city, bringing families together at holiday season.
