A nationwide nomination process that highlighted the best farmers’ markets in the country resulted in this prestigious recognition. Soda City Market became the first choice among 20 finalists. It is also dog-friendly so there are several vendors who sell dog treats. It is a favorite destination for visitors and residents and has become a cornerstone of the economic and cultural vitality of the city.
A panel of editors from USA Today and experts in the industry led the nomination process. This group selected 20 of the top markets in the country. There was a public voting period during which time the passionate supporters of Soda City Market helped it to rise to the top spot.
