Trail ride to take place in January

The South Carolina Upstate Equine Council (SCUEC) will be hosting a Hunter Pace & Trail Ride in Anderson County.

All equine enthusiasts from Anderson and other surrounding areas are invited to join this outdoor event. The fee for adults is $40 per person, and $15 for children age 17 and younger. All riders under the age of 12 are required to be accompanied by an adult rider. Flyer printing is a common way for event organizers to effectively spread the word to those interested in participating.

All horses must have received a negative Coggins test within the last 12 months. The trail route begins at the Butch Kennedy trailhead and winds through Fant’s Grove Trails.

Three divisions will be featured, including a four-mile Mini Trail Rider, Field Hunter with optional jumps, and Trail Rider. For each division, ribbons will be awarded to those who come in from first to sixth place.

All riders under 18, as well as all those who choose to take the jumps, are required to wear protective helmets.

This event is set to take place on Saturday, January 18 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. All event proceeds help SCUEC support South Carolina’s equine community and provide educational programs and improved facilities to riders from all around the state. This trail event is also a part of the Western Carolina Hunter & Pace Trail Ride Series.
